Good Morning.
I'm a hard of hearing mother of an eleven year old boy. I have a small registered hearing assistance dog. I am seeking a two bedroom townhouse in the Royal Oak area. My son will be attending St. Andrew's High School on McKenzie Ave. Currently we live in CRD housing downtown, close to my son's elemtary school. This location is becoming increasingly unacceptable due to the changing nature of the neighbourhood. Our security feels precarious and as a hard of hearing woman alone with a child I feel it is paramount we feel secure in our home. I am securely employed and do not require subsidy.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

We are working on creating a multi-stakeholder coop in Port Alberni specifically to address food security in a RAPIDLY changing climate. First meeting Feb 16 at North Island College. I am so impressed with the idea of a funeral coop. I just never thought of it before. Soon my mom and dad will pass away and I don't think either of them have planned except for some life insurance policies. I love the idea of 40% savings and I think a coop for this inevitable service is bang on!

As a member of 2 credit unions and 2 retail coops in Victoria, I'm DISAPPOINTED that I didn't know of the Oct 17 event ahead of time.

I concur that COOPS should have a much higher profile in contemporary Canada. To that end I wonder if you could get Dr Jim Tully (excellent lecturer) or his nominee to talk, e.g. his March 13/08 lecture on GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP, which ended up contrasting coops and corporations, civics and civil society.... and it WAS very interesting:
Cheers
MK

Dr. Tully is on leave from July 1, 2008 to June 30th, 2009
